About Me

Welcome to InfoSecBLEEP, a blog dedicated to exploring the ever-evolving world of information security and data protection. The blog is authored by Heiko Weber, a seasoned expert with a lifelong passion for safeguarding digital ecosystems and promoting privacy.

Born in 1974 in Germany, Heiko currently resides in the Rhein-Main metropolitan area. His journey into the field of information security began in 1989, and this initial curiosity has turned into a lifelong pursuit. He studied computer science at Virginia Tech in the United States and at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, which laid a strong foundation for his career.

Professionally, Heiko has been immersed in Internet technologies since 1992, focusing on various aspects of information security and privacy. He also shares his expertise in academia: since 2004, he has delivered lectures at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt and other educational institutions. Currently, he serves as the Head of Information Security and Data Protection for a major unit of a renowned German machine manufacturer.

For years, Heiko dreamed of writing books on information security but found it challenging to carve out the time. This blog is his solution—a platform to communicate ideas, share insights, and engage with others who are passionate about the field. While InfoSecBLEEP marks the beginning of this journey, the ultimate goal remains: to write a book (or perhaps several) that captures the rich experiences and perspectives Heiko has gained over decades of dedicated work in information security.

Thank you for visiting InfoSecBLEEP! Whether you’re an industry professional, a student, or simply curious about how we protect information in an interconnected world, you’ll hopefully find valuable and thought-provoking content here.
